Yeah, I've given up on Palm. What idiots. I guess I'll have to buy a laptop now. :-(

It is a bummer you worked so hard on the device for it to be canned right before luanch. Funny, the media ragged on Palm for the Foleo... and now ultra-mobile PC's are all the rage. I would still rather have a Foleo over a EEE PC though... I am sad.

Palm has a really hard time doing anything that someone else isn't already doing. Massive fear of the new / different / being first. It is a shame, and fighting against that fear and reluctance was the worst part about working there. *sigh*

I've seen a lot more risk taking going on internally in the last six months... in fact, the Foleo cancellation was part of that -- stop effort on a product that may have been moderately successful to instead invest at a product idea that was a bit further off but may have much more upside. Yes, it's still a phone, but I really think when we launch with the new stuff, it will be special with a number of abilities that haven't been deployed everywhere just yet.
