Vegetarian Breakfast at Bergstrom

I'm here at gate 14 of Austin-Bergstrom International waiting for the early flight to San Jose to start boarding. These early trips to California always lead to long, tiring days. I had planned to get to bed by midnight, but I actually didn't get to sleep until about 2:30AM, catching a little over an hour of sleep before having to get up to shower, do final packing, and drive to the airport.

Having survived a few airport rushes in the last year, I made sure to get here early, so I had time to hunt for breakfast. I've always been disappointed by the homogenitiy of breakfast food, and commercial breakfast food tends to be heavy on sausage, bacon, and eggs. After auditioning a few stops, I made it to the central Schlotsky's pastry stand, and settled for a day-old garden salad with 'lite' Italian dressing. I didn't want anything sugary, and this was a lot more healthy than a buttery crossiant.

We're starting to board. More from Cali.
