A new way to read Ben's LJ
Yesterday, I registered the domain "thelifeunwired.com". Right now, I've got things setup so it redirects to this LiveJournal, but in the future, I'm planning on expanding it to be my whole new personal media site, aggregating all my different weblog content, including Combee on Palm OS, Veg Out! Austin, my photoblogs, and anything else I get involved with.

I've got a pretty good set of domain names now: thelifeunwired.com, combee.net, palmoswerks.com, unwiredwidgets.com, unwiredwidgets.net, and vegoutaustin.com. Plus, I've got access to subdomains of techwood.org and yak.net if needed. The "unwiredwidgets" domains I got a few years ago when I was working on the Palm VII book and needed a place to host examples. Since that book is completely obselete now, I think I can safely repurpose it; it would be a nice place to host a bunch of web applets that you could use to do interesting things from your cell phone.

Widgets? Widgets!? Are you an economics teacher now?? Or am I out of the loop on some new tech reference? Maybe an old reference. I am out of the loop on most tech matters, so it wouldn't be a surprise.

Nah... I just needed a name when I was writing the book, and widgets were always used in examples, so it seemed a good place to start.
