I just saw "Invasion of the Bee Girls", a cheesy 1973 movie written by Nicholas Meyer (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, Time After Time). It was part of the Alamo "Something Weird" series of midnight movies. The print wasn't very good, the acting wasn't really there, but it was so campy that it was worth seeing. I've seen several film critics list this as a guilty pleasure, and I can understand the sentiment.
It wasn't quite as fun as last week's "BMX Bandits", an Australian teen caper film starring a young Nicole Kidman. The best thing about the film is the bad Foley effects; it sounds like they only had one canned sound effect, a swoosh, and they use it over and over whenever a bike goes into the air or off a ramp. The dialog is very cheesy, but its all fun and watchable. I would guess this is the only film ever made that features a BMX bicycle chase down a water slide.
