Old News Worth Reading

A friend forwarded to me this August 2004 article at RollingStone.com about Vice President Dick Cheney. It's well worth reading before Tuesday night's vice-presidential debate between him and Senator John Edwards. The article is a biography of the man, showing how he has a pattern of using personal connections to gain power and wealth while leading his enterprises into chaos.

I've heard Edwards talk a few times this year, and I think he can really effectively attack Cheney during the debate if given a chance. Halliburton will be on the table, and I think the history of the current VP and the Middle East is very relevant to our current and future situation. However, I'd also guess that Cheney will be a more effective talker than Bush and has the ability to adapt his attacks on Edwards during the 90 minutes of the debate much better than Bush did. I won't be able to watch this one live due to a trip, but I'm Tivoing it for later perusal.
