One Day, My New Phone Will Come

Hearing the rumble of the FedEx truck outside my office window makes my heart go pitter-patter. Today it was worse, as I'd gotten a notice yesterday saying my new PalmOne Treo 650 had shipped. So, I excitedly rushed down the stairs, opened the door, and waited while the driver did his paperwork and exited the truck.

Hmmm. This box doesn't weigh much, but it does say palmOne Store on it. Oh, it's just the Bluetooth headset that was offered as a freebie to upgraders. I admit that it is pretty cool in a Star Trek communications officer kind of way, but it isn't too useful for me yet. Checking the palmOne store site, I see that my shipping notice was just for the headset and my 650 is still back-ordered. However, people on the Treo forums have started to report receiving their phones from Sprint, so with luck, it will be here before the end of next week.

(...and yes, several people have inquired as to the disposition of my current Treo 600. I've not quite decided what I will do with it yet; I may need to keep it around for software testing, although without an active phone account on it, there's not much that I need it for that I can't do with the Treo 600 simulator. We'll see.)
