Ben's Sick and Tired of Being Sick

I've had a nasty head cold since the evening of the 1st. I actually think I spotted a few symptoms on New Year's Eve, as I was feeling a little lightheaded that night and I wasn't drinking, but it really hit me hard on Saturday evening. I've had three sick days so far this week, although what that means for someone working from home isn't exactly clear. I've still been handling all my email, but I've just not been generating any new work, and I've been taking a lot of naps. Sunday and Monday were very light reading days for me, as I couldn't pay attention to a page of text for long, but I think I'm up for finishing a book tonight.

This evening does feel better than previous nights, but I don't know if it's just an energy boost from my afternoon nap or a real recovery. Each day has had different symptoms; I ran a slight fever yesterday, while today's been all about drainage, making me very glad for the Kleenex boxes Mom gave me for Christmas. I'll tell the story behind that gift in another post. I did get registered with the Austin Regional Clinic this afternoon, so if I still feel bad in the morning, I'm calling for a same-day appointment.
