My friend poyboy is doing a fundraiser next Thursday night at the Alamo Downtown. Proceeds go to fund a new short film he's working on. The night starts at 6:30 with a screening of the controversial SXSW favorite "Kissing on the Mouth", followed by Bryan's film "Dear Pillow". I've seen both of these films and look forward to seeing them again. KOTM is a very explicit movie about post-college relationships, focusing on lying and trust, and it made me feel very uncomfortable when I first saw it. However, it also made me think a lot, and I'm eager to see it again after some perspective. DP isn't as visually explicit, but it's got some very adult material about growing up, and I'm glad to have it's poster framed in my living room :)
More details on the event are at the Austin Film Society site. There's also a raffle with some nice prizes, like passes to SXSW and the Austin Film Festival.
