I'm here at my sister's apartment in Atlanta working on developer support issues while CNBC is playing in the background. Two items of interest:
A story on Russia seizing and destroying 40 million dollars worth of counterfeit cigarettes produced in Russian factories to look like Marlboros and Camels. The story closed on a quick shot of a bulldozer operator involved with the destruction operation smoking a cigarette.
An advertisement by a Scottish investment bank. A couple is at the alter in their wedding ceremony, and the priest asks the groom "Do you take this woman...". The groom replies by starting a long, legalistic diatribe about the meaning of "I do", that this action involves forward-looking statements with uncertain outcomes, than not all possible risks have been explored. He gets interrupted by his best man, who steps over to the alter, pushes him aside, and says "I do" and kisses the bride. Then, the ad ends with a tagline to stop talking and start acting.
