Bad News, Good News: Travel Edition
(Recollections of my trip back to Austin on Wednesday)

Bad News: The security line at Chattanooga took ten minutes
Good News: That's still a lot less than the backed-up lines in Atlanta.

Bad News: My carry-on bag had to go under the seat in front of me, reducing my leg room.
Good News: I didn't have to gate-check the bag.

Bad News: The plane was delayed 25 minutes on the ground in CHA due to an air-traffic control hold.
Good News: We made up the time in-flight, and only landed 10 minutes late.

Bad News: I had a three-and-a-half hour layover in Chicago.
Good News: That gave me time to catch dinner, do some writing, and read more of my books.

Bad News: The flight to Austin was oversold.
Good News: I got bumped to first class, my first operational upgrade since 2000.

Bad News: Since the flight left after 9PM, there was no meal service.
Good News: That meant I could sleep most of the flight without being interrupted.

Bad News: I left items in the seat back pocket.
Good News: They were magazines I'd probably not have read again anyway.

Bad News: It took an hour to get home on Supershuttle.
Good News: I got to hear about the trips from which five other people were returning.

Glad you made it home ok. Come back to see us soon. I think I'm already twice as big as I was when you were here. Hugs!

Visiting you and Steve was one of the highlights of my trip.
